Simon McLoughlin

Simon is a qualified teacher, who currently works in a primary school in County Durham, where he is a senior leader, SENCO and the Designated Teacher for Looked After Children. He first became involved with Stomping Grounds when he brought his son along to Dukes Hagg Wood for our monthly family fun sessions. After seeing how much his son enjoyed being in the forest, he signed him up for Stomping Grounds Kindergarten at Gibside, where he spent an incredible and transformational year in the forest.
Simon’s role at Stomping Grounds is primarily focused on supporting the Kindergarten provisions at Gibside and Saltwell Park, drawing on his expertise and experience of working in the education sector.
In his spare time, Simon enjoys cooking, travelling and going for days out with his wife and two young children.
