I joined the Stomping Grounds team in spring 2022 when I was given the opportunity to help with the stewardship of Dukeshagg wood, as part of the collective that own and manage it. I soon found myself also helping with the set-up and maintenance of other SG sites around the region, as well as occasional sessions with young people. It’s always great to have willing helpers when I’m working in the woods, and I often find I learn as much from the young people as they do from me!
Alongside my work with SG I love to use the timber we extract as part of the management plan to create and build things – from furniture for the school sites, to arts & culture projects and most recently a full timber workshop.
You’ll often find me up at the mill processing timber, so please come and say hi!
