Eve Sample

Support Worker

Eve is an autistic woman striving to break the barriers of neurodiversity and learning disabilities. She is currently training for her Level 1 Forest School Practitioner qualification, and is enjoying learning about how to get the very best out of Forest School sessions, in a fun and safe way.

Eve started her Forest School journey as a participant at RISE youth group in 2021. During this time, Eve also completed her Young Leaders training. She enjoyed Stomping Grounds so much that she became a volunteer supporting sessions.

In January 2023, Eve was successful in her application for the role of Forest Coordinator, funded by The Rank Foundation’s Time To Shine project. This provided an opportunity for Eve to learn about forest maintenance and the pedagogical approaches to Forest Schooling. During this time, Eve has been able to use her lived experience as an autistic person to support 2-1 sessions with children with additional needs, and Reframing Autism sessions.

In 2024, Eve is looking forward to continuing her role as a Support Worker at Stomping Grounds, where she will continue to contribute to the maintenance of the forest, ensuring that it remains a sustainable and enjoyable place for generations to come.
